I’m a former academic turned social media and content strategist. For the past five years I’ve worked as a consultant for brands such as Conde Nast, Gilt Groupe, and Atlantic Records, helping them develop their social media presence and advising them on how to effectively grow their online communities and work with online influencers. I’ve spoken on social media, blogging, and online community at BlogHer in 2006, 2008, and 2009, at SXSW in 2007, at Mom 2.0 in 2012, and contributed pieces to two books on blogging and social media: Sleep Is for the Weak: The Best of the Mommybloggers (2008), and Kirtsy Takes a Bow: A Celebration of Women’s Online Favorites (2010).
