Sway Group is a digital agency that manages the largest network of female social media influencers in the world (75,000+). I helped develop and implement Sway’s social media strategy across all online platforms, executed Sway’s web strategy and oversaw all aspects of their web presence (including design, SEO, analytics, and CMS management), generated content strategy for online marketing campaigns, authored posts for Sway’s blog, produced email marketing campaigns, handled influencer recruitment and retention, and managed communications with online influencers.

Contributed blog posts covering a variety of entertainment and parenting topics. Additionally, I regularly helped generate sponsored advertising campaigns at Babble, working with brands such as The Home Depot, Old Navy, and the ABC Network to build unique promotional content. I was also honored to be selected as a panelist for Babble’s lists of the Top 100 Mom Blogs, Top 100 Dad Blogs, and Food Blogs in 2012.

My responsibilities on the site included content and social media strategy; managing the site’s team of writers; writing content for the site and editing posts by our writers; handling all the backend tech and design, including making changes directly to the site’s CSS and HTML; updating the CMS and maintaining the site’s database; charting analytics and fine-tuning SEO; dealing with all hosting and CDN issues; generating revenue via advertising and handling accounting and payments; scouting and hiring writers; marketing and promoting the site. During its run (2006-2013), MamaPop won several awards, including the Baltimore Sun Mobbie for Best Pop Culture Blog (2009).

Co-Lead Consultant, “Sparklecorn” Convention Party at BlogHer

In 2009, my business partner and I independently created and organized the “Sparklecorn” party at that year’s BlogHer conference in Chicago. It was so successful that BlogHer asked us to come aboard as consultants and throw the party in partnership with them every year from 2010-2012 (three conferences). Our responsibilities included coming up with the party’s theme, decor and entertainment, as well as selecting food and drink, organizing photography and video coverage, and sculpting the party’s overall look, feel, and spirit. It was the largest party at BlogHer every year – with up to 1,500 attendees – and was consistently deemed the best by partygoers. [Link to video we produced of the 2011 party.]
